Overview

Objectives:

The project IntelliSHM addressed the following topics:

  • Design of an integrated SHM system;
  • Reduced number of sensors;
  • Embedded solutions;
  • Optimum location of sensors;
  • Sensor fault detection by multi-scale methods;
  • Improved diagnostic and prognostic tools.

Also this proposal aimed at developing a software package for designing sensorised composite panels for reliable detection of impact events. The proposed approach was based on the customisation of proprietary VS2 technology, in order to develop enhanced diagnostics and prognostics capabilities.
