Overview
Background & policy context:
A greater understanding of relationships between land use and transport has been identified as a key to forecasting and managing the demand for travel, which impacts on a number of policy areas but particularly that of tackling congestion. This project focuses on household location and how it is affected by changes to the transport system.
Objectives:
The main objectives for this project are as follows:
- Reports presenting a quantified understanding of the household re-location process;
- A model which embodies this understanding to forecast future household location as a function of demographic change and the transport system;
- Systems for forecasting household numbers at desegregate level as a function on transport accessibility and planning policy.
