Overview
The LESS project aimed to develop a software simulation environment to evaluate the energy performance of different ship types, primarily cruise ships, considering a variety of plant configurations. In particular, it allows the evaluation of alternative plant configurations for heat recovery considering a variety of operating conditions representative of one or more operating profiles, in order to also evaluate and optimise energy efficiency through cogeneration and appropriate recovery plants.
The combination of data related to different configurations of engine rooms, systems and energy recovery components allows the quick review of design solutions, combining them with energy and environmental considerations.
