Overview

Background & Policy context

The project responded to the need to provide information for people with seven specific types of impairement about the adaptations that might help them drive, legal matters, sources of help, information and finance.

The project actually feaured the following sub-projects:

  • Motoring after amputation
  • Motoring with restricted growth
  • Motoring with multiple sclerosis
  • Motoring after brain injury
  • Motoring after a stroke
  • Motoring with arthritis 
  • Motoring with cerebral palsy.
Objectives

The project aimed to produce guides to encourage and enable people with one of the above disabilities to achieve maximum mobility.

Methodology

The project involved interviews and consultations with users, organisations that represent them and others involved in the assessment and supply, of equipment.
