Overview

Objectives

The main objective of the project is research and development of Multimedia information system (MMIS) for trains, its connection to other on-board systems and integration into information and supervision systems of railway operator and infrastructure manager. The system architecture will be in compliance with the architectural style denoted as the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The system will contain the following subsystems: Passenger information system, Reservation system, Multimedia system, Public address system, Safety alarm system and Mobile application management system which provides the access to the services of MMIS for ground applications. Individual subsystems will be developed as separate solutions which can be combined into the MMIS system according to the requirements of a particular customer. The system will be designed with the emphasis on easy connectivity with other systems.

  • The project has the following output:
  • 1) Multimedia information system for trains based on SOA (prototype) - multimedia information system (MMIS) for trains including their connections to other on-board systems and integration into information and supervision systems of railway operator and infrastructure manager. The system architecture is conformant with the architectural style denoted as the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The system was designed with the emphasis on easy connectivity with other systems.
