Overview
Objectives:
NEXT-ITS 2 aimed at improving the efficiency, safety and security of the northern part of the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Core Network Corridor from Oslo and the Finnish-Russian border via Copenhagen, Hamburg and Bremen to Hanover in Germany.
Methodology:
Continuity of ITS services were achieved through coordinated deployment of Traffic Management Services, upgrade of traffic management centres, development and implementation of traffic management plans and harmonisation of control and management strategies. NEXT-ITS 2 also addressed the provision of EU-wide traffic and travel information services, including cross border services for seamless door-to-door mobility.
