Overview

Objectives

The Action is part of a Global Project that aims to develop a network of multi-fuel refuelling infrastructure, to construct 2 bio-methane production plants and introduce 330 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks by 2023 in France, before the 2024 Olympic Games organised in Paris. The general objective of the Action is to support the decarbonisation of road and inland waterway transport along the Atlantic and the North Sea-Mediterranean Corridors through the deployment of the alternative fuel bio-CNG in the Core Urban Node Paris.

The Action will achieve this through:

  • the construction and commissioning of 8 bio-CNG fuelling stations in the urban node of Paris (out of which one will serve both road as well as inland waterway transport)
  • procuring and introducing into the market for truck lease 300 CNG vehicles
  • procuring and using 30 heavy duty vehicles for last mile transportation of goods being transported by rail.

The completion of the Action will contribute to the decarbonisation of transport sector to the roll-out of alternative fuels vehicles and refuelling infrastructure.
