Overview

Objectives
  • The project “One Cross-Border Region – One European Destination” (MIS-ETC code 643) with a total eligible value of 269.089 Euro, contributed to strengthen tourism cross-border cooperation, by elaborating a cross-border product, promoting the Silistra - Calarasi area as a destination for alternative tourism.

    Promotion of the alternative tourism in the region Silistra-Calarasi.

    Strengthened cooperation and networking among 30 Silistra and Calarasi tourist companies and relevant institutions through study-visit exchanges, two joint seminars, a conference on experience exchange and three joint promotional events in the region Silistra-Calarasi

  • Strengthening cross-border cooperation and networking in the sector of alternative tourism;    
  • Developing and marketing of a joint tourist product of the area Silistra-Calarasi;
  • Promoting the image of the region Silistra-Calarasi as a joint destination for alternative tourism, based on the local advantages;

Results

Within the project, tourist sites were studied and mapped, six tourist routs were developed and located with GPS coordinates and a tourism reservation system was created.  All of these are presented within the web-portal created, which is available at: http://cbctourist.eu/.

In order to promote the project and the regional identity Silistra - Calarasi events/seminars were organized: “The Cross-border cycles tour in Silistra-Calarasi”, “The Cross-border rowing tour in Silistra-Calarasi” etc. 

The activities were completed by developing a marketing strategy, containing guidelines for organisation of promotional tours and guidelines for conducting of cross-border cycling tour along the Danube.
