Overview
The project aim is to create a tool for the management of horizontal road marking (HRM) on the basis of a statistical model of the lifetime of HRM. The model will work based on a set of selected variables affecting the lifetime of HRM. The model will be used by the road managers for planning of the HRM maintenance/renewal and will help to select the best suitable materials for HRM depending on the given variables, which in a long term will ensure the required quality of HRM.

Results
- Practical use of the newly introduced functional tests in which the change of chosen functional parametres of asphalt mixture was investigated by adding of two additives. These additives enable the reduction of production temperatures of these mixtures
- Use of special asphalt-rubber mixture, the Stress Absorbing Layer (SAL). Several different mixtures were designed and selected ones subsequently tested. Low-temperature properties, rutting test, bending tensile relaxation, stiffness modulus and fatigue properties were determined. These parametres were stated for asphalt-rubber mixtures with aggregate sizes up to 5 mm, 8 mm or 16 mm.
- Description of materials and test methods is given in papers presented at the 3rd International Conference on Engineering and Technology Innovation ICETI 2014
