Overview
The project deals with the issue of outplanting trees adjacent to roads and other dust sources, with emphasis on capture of dust particles. Methods and software applications will be developed to assess the contribution of outplantings to air quality improvement. Combination of particle concentration measurement and modelling will be applied for this purpose. After that, a methodology for optimal outplanting implementation with focus on dust capture effect will be formulated.

The model "Green barrier" presents a computation tool implementing methodological and computation processes to quantify effects of vegetation barriers. The application output is the quantity of reduced immissions of particulate matters (PM10) and overall dust along roads thanks to green barriers. The tool evaluates efficiency of green barriers in the vicinity of roads.
