Overview

Objectives

The research of the importance of a correct placement of dowels and tie bars concerning behaviour and life-span of concrete pavement will be performed - the tests on laboratory samples and full scale tests under cyclic loading will be carried out. Individual methods used for determining of their placement will be analysed and an accuracy will be verified. The main outcome will be a methodology for measuring these elements in concrete pavements and design of changes in technical specifications.

Results

  • Measurement and evaluation of the dowel and tie bar position in concrete pavements - the methodology focused on methods of measuring position dowels and tie bars in concrete pavements and location accuracy of non-destructive methods (ground penetrating radar, MIT-scan). This specification covers jointed unreinforced concrete pavement only.
