The objective is to develop a method of preventive driving safety assessment with regards to road parameters. To this end necessary tools are under creation:
- upgraded telematic unit with inertial sensors
- area-wide identification of critical locations (based on operating speeds, which reflect real driving behaviour, not only accidents, and thus more credible)
- update of assessment software for fleet monitoring
- certified assessment methodology (practical guidelines)
Application of these tools, employing combination of ITS and GNSS technologies, will enable monitoring driving assessment and providing a timely warning against critical situations, which will contribute to road safety improvement and reduction of socio-economical losses due to traffic accidents.
