Overview

Objectives:

The aim of the project is to analyse the safety of air traffic in the area of satellite navigation services. The key question is whether it is possible to use the GNSS systems as the sole source of navigation information to ensure IFR operations at airports with poorly developed infrastructure. The question of safety is paramount, however, largely depends on the settings of the only correct safety procedures. Research is focused on security procedures for the design and verification with regard to the technology infrastructure of small airports. Based on analysis´ results and subsequent verification safe procedures / practices for GNSS instrument approach for small airports will be published.
