Overview
S/F SamueLNG for a Blue Atlantic Arch Action is aimed at improving the sustainability of marine traffic by promoting marine LNG as a viable fuel source for small maritime vessels. To do so, the Action is aimed at introducing a LNG distribution network within the Atlantic Arch and is thus a wider benefits MoS Action.
Two objectives were pursued, namely the deployment of a pilot LNG dredger as well as the preparation of the preliminary studies enabling the future deployment of LNG bunkering infrastructure on the Atlantic Arch.

Results
To accomplish this, the Action has:
- Successfully completed the first LNG retrofit of a dredger vessel: "Samuel de Champlain" to a dual source fuel engine system;
- Completed studies on LNG bunkering;
- Completed Environmental Impact studies in the ports of Rouen, Le Havre and Nantes Saint-Nazaire;
- Trained staff involved in LNG operations.
These activities represent a significant step to the further advancement of LNG as a fuel source, and will enable the second phase of this Global Project, which include the further installation of the mobile LNG shore unit in the Port of Gijon and the bunkering of the floating barge in the Port of Vigo.
