Overview
It was needed to find the strategies for mobility design within the peripheral regions (to and from regional center) as a communal aspect, but also to connect them with the other centers as regional economic aspect.
The objective of the project is to map existing standards and the resulting quality of transport infrastructure and the mobility supply of peripheral regions in Switzerland. Furthermore to describe the causal relationships between mobility supply and regional development with emphasis on the costs of different mobility supply standards and to derivate strategies for adaptation and / or development of new standards mobility supply in the peripheral area.
The overview of the causal relationships between mobility supply and regional development will be provided. From a literature review and theoretical considerations the mobility needs of five room types are determined with different development priorities. Based on the observed effect relationships a conceptual approach is derived, which allows for the individual room types strategic thrusts. Can be developed to optimise the mobility standards, without endangering the development goals of the region. This conceptual findings could result in the actual planning process for the design of transport infrastructure and the mobility supply in the peripheral area.
