Overview
In the framework of S3, safety concepts and impacts of technological innovations like the integration of biometrics in the passenger handling process are analysed.
The main objective of the terminal simulation is to resemble passenger flows inbound and outbound. This way, a planning tool for resembling and evaluating the passenger flow and the related passenger service level is obtained. Included are:
- Acquisition of information about resource capacities
- Acquisition of information about queues and the area they occupy
- Acquisition of information about the capacity of traffic areas
- Acquisition of diverse key figures for the operation of the airport
Part of the works is an evaluation tool that automates and illustrates the generated results and supports the user with the analysis of the data system-guided.
In the framework of S3, safety concepts and impacts of technological innovations like the integration of biometrics in the passenger handling process are analysed. Mainly, two parameters have to be paid attention to: On the one hand processes at the terminal and on the other hand the passenger flow through the main building. Both the evaluation of new safety concepts and the implementation of a catastrophe scenario simulation represent a major area of focus of the project. A terminal simulation system is the basis of the research. The airport of Hamburg represents the application example.
