Overview
For all generations, unrestricted individual mobility is crucial for social exchange and participation. A self-determined life in old age therefore requires support in coping with distances.
The goal of the SenioMobil project is to develop a system solution that supports older people in maintaining their mobility in old age. In the system design, great importance is attached to ensuring that the user of the mobile device retains the self-determination of his or her actions in every phase and that the device does not lead to stigma. The SenioMobil system consists of a mobile device that the user carries with him or her at all times when he or she is on the move. The system is a powerful companion for the target group and provides a feeling of security through the offered functions. The mobile device contains only very few, but extremely important basic functions, all of which can be activated via keys. The individual services can be individually configured for each user. The configuration is stored on the server and can be changed or extended as required.
All computing and storage-consuming functions are implemented on a central server, whereby communication between the portable device and the server takes place via a GPRS radio link. A test run in the Dresden area will demonstrate and evaluate the system properties.
