Overview

Background & policy context:

The Action’s overall objective is to create synergies between the energy (electricity submission and storage) and transport (EV charging) infrastructure and to remove barriers for the future roll-out of the Global Project which consists of installing, until 2025, up to 1.000 stationery battery systems across Europe.

Objectives:

The first objective is to understand all necessary functional, technical and ICT requirements together with business-client relationship for the deployment of 10 battery storage systems of approximately 500 kW and 500kWh in Austria and Germany.

The second objective is to gather significant data about the synergies between alternative fuel infrastructure and energy infrastructure.

The third objective is to raise awareness of both industry and public authorities about potential synergies between energy and transport infrastructure.

Methodology:

An integrated assessment of the studies and the pilot will clarify the technical parameters for mass application, provide quantitative framework to evaluate use case business viability and system efficiency, introduce business model and detailed steps to reach commercial viability. The assessment will provide a comprehensive policy input to policy makers on national and EU level for future roll-out.
