Overview

Objectives:

The aim of the project is development of test facilities for research and study of autonomous/semi-autonomous flying systems (UAS) and investigation of respective innovative ideas for TalTech teams and collaborating companies.

One sub-goal is to develop new monitoring capabilities for drones using hyperspectral imaging and novel data processing approaches. The second sub-goal is development of test facilities for TalTech School of Engineering and School of IT students to be used for longer run to support student projects in novel drone and respective control systems development and in optimizing and testing developed structures (software, electronics, hardware, embedded and communication systems and energy management systems).

It is foreseen to involve students from mechatronics, electronics and communication engineering and computer systems and software engineering specialties to support tighter collaboration between different specialties.

The project focuses also to create an attractive demonstration facility for high-school students to promote technical education in general. Project specific target is launching a perspective and High-Tech activity in the field of automation, mechatronics and robotics and push collaboration in the field.
