Overview
Objectives
UBE2 defined a scientific method to assess an entire ship project against the vibratory phenomenon and to predict the triggering of strongly non-linear phenomena by identifying the primary causes that generate them.
Methodology
Correlations between the vibrational behavior, measured in real operating conditions, and the variations in the fluid dynamic motion field of the hull were investigated. The project took a particular interest in the propeller and all the appendages.
