Welcome to the August edition of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter. TRIMIS is an online platform for policy makers and researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.


This month we share with you the following selection of projects:


  • GENESIS, measuring the environmental sustainability of electric aircraft to support sustainable and competitive electric aircraft systems;
  • FLAMINGo, proposing a new industrial manufacturing route for high performance lightweight aluminium composite materials in automotive parts;
  • PLATINA3, providing the knowledge base for the implementation of the European Union Green Deal in view of further development of the European Commission's Inland Waterways Transport action programme (NAIADES) towards 2030;
  • AB4RAIL, reviewing state-of-the-art technologies assessing their suitability for the Adaptable Communication System (ACS) of the Shift2Rail technical demonstrator.


This issue also presents a selection of forthcoming events from the TRIMIS database. Some events will be delivered in an online format because of the ongoing travel restrictions.
