Welcome to the June edition of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter. TRIMIS is an online platform for policy makers and researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.
In this month’s newsletter, we feature a new TRIMIS report European research and innovation in aviation emissions reduction. The report assesses projects that have been funded by the European Union and focus on emissions reduction, analysing the evolution of funding and researched technologies, and providing the market and policy context in Europe on the topic.
In addition, we highlight a selection of projects:
- Drones4Safety – aims to build a cooperative, autonomous, and continuously operating drone system for use in railway and bridge inspections;
- Nautilus – aims to develop, evaluate and validate a marine energy system fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) for long-haul passenger ships to reduce emissions;
- ALBATROSS – research looking into the possibilities of implementing a flight with zero waste fuel and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions through live trials;
- LEAD – creating different scenarios of urban logistics networks to support experimentation and decision making with on-demand logistics operations in a public-private urban setting.
This issue also presents a selection of forthcoming events from the TRIMIS database. Some events will be delivered in an online format due to the ongoing travel restrictions.
