March 2021 Issue 39

TRIMIS Newsletter

Welcome to the March edition of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter. TRIMIS is an online platform for policy makers and researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.

In this month’s newsletter, we highlight the Batteries – Technology Development Report 2020, which provides an assessment of the latest development trends, targets and barriers for all solid state Li-ion batteries. We also feature the latest TRIMIS Report on Waterborne transport in Europe – the role of Research and Innovation in decarbonisation, which analyses relevant European Research and Innovation projects on this topic, looking at technology trends; and operational, coordination and support measures.

Alongside this, we include a selection of projects including:

  • SAFE-UP – which proactively addresses the upcoming safety challenges of Connected Automated Vehicles (CAVs);
  • ASSURED-UAM – ongoing research into the concept of vertical transport over populated areas to create safer and more sustainable urban/metropolitan transport systems;
  • HIGH V.LO-CITY – research on technical improvements that increase energy efficiency and reduce costs of hydrogen supply to hybrid fuel cell buses;
  • LINCOLN – presents three new concepts of added-value specialised vessels able to run requested services for several maritime sectors in the most effective, efficient, economically valuable and eco-friendly way.

This issue also presents a selection of forthcoming events from the TRIMIS database. Some events will be delivered in an online format due to the ongoing travel restrictions. For more news and updates from the TRIMIS team, please follow us on LinkedIn and look out for #TRIMIS_EU tagged posts from @Transport_EU or @EU_ScienceHub on Twitter.
