Welcome to the May issue of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter. TRIMIS is an online platform for researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.
The TRIMIS team will be attending the International Transport Forum Summit 2019 in Leipzig, Germany this month. If you are attending the event, please come and find us, we look forward to meeting you.
Our featured highlight this month is a report from the Joint Research Centre entitled Innovation Capacity of the European Transport Sector. This report provides a macro-level assessment of the overall innovation capacity in the European transport sector by identifying and assessing the most relevant indicators on private and public funding, R&D personnel and researchers, engagement in innovation and on the types of innovation activities at the EU and Member State level.
Project highlights this month include:
- PANOPTIS, a project that aims to increase the resilience of road infrastructure, ensuring reliable network availability under unfavourable conditions, such as extreme weather, landslides, and earthquakes;
- JERONIMO, a project that examines the understanding of the physical mechanisms of ultrahigh bypass ratio engines and the related installed jet noise with potential jet-wing interaction.
In addition, the Newsletter features a selection of forthcoming events from the TRIMIS database. For more news and updates from the TRIMIS team, please follow us on LinkedIn and look out for #TRIMIS_EU tagged tweets from @Transport_EU on Twitter.
