Welcome to the September edition of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter. TRIMIS is an online platform for policy makers and researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.
This month, we feature JRC’s report on 'Innovation capacity in the transport sector: a European outlook'. The report provides a macro-level assessment of the overall innovation capacity in the European transport sector. Alongside this, we feature the latest report on 'New and Emerging Transport Technologies and Trends in European Research and Innovation Projects'.
In addition, we include a selection of projects including:
- HyTEC, which set up two European hydrogen passenger vehicle deployment centres for developing ultra-low-carbon, urban-transport solutions.
- SMARTWISE, which aims to develop a smart, miniaturised and energy-autonomous wireless sensor platform dedicated to data collection for the structural health monitoring system (SHMS) of future multi mission regional aircraft.
This issue also presents a selection of forthcoming events from the TRIMIS database, including the TRA virtual Strategic session 1: Climate change mitigation – what can transport do? that will take place on 29 September. Some events will be delivered in an online format due to the ongoing travel restrictions.
