This poster aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of data visualization for research and innovation policy support and stakeholder engagement, as provided by the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) portal and reports. By employing a compelling mix of traditional and innovative data visualization techniques, we effectively captivate and connect with a broad spectrum of audiences. TRIMIS is an open-access transport research and innovation information system and European policy support tool. The comprehensive TRIMIS database encompasses research and innovation projects, categorized based on various criteria, including transport modes, sectors, technologies developed, and the seven Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda (STRIA) roadmaps adopted by the European Commission in May 2017. Through diverse types of data visualizations, we present a wide range of topics covered by research and innovation initiatives. These visual representations provide an overview of funding distribution, both in terms of quantity and sources, pertaining to specific research areas, and showing their temporal evolutions. Moreover, they highlight key trends and present the main stakeholders involved in research and innovation activities, as well as the links between them. By leveraging the power of data visualization, this poster demonstrates how effective communication of complex information can be achieved, enabling accessibility, understanding, and engagement among various stakeholders within the transport community.
