Overview
With the enlargement of the European Union, Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) plays a more important role in the internal market. IVR, the pan-European association which includes representatives of inland shipping, the insurance, the shipbuilding industry and the shipping survey, is organising a colloquium where first experiences in the enlarged European Union regarding IWT will be dealt with. Besides legal subjects, the colloquium will deal with economic aspects referring to the liberalisation of the market as well. The colloquium will offer the possibility to discuss all subjects with both the representatives of governments and transport professionals, and the representatives of the relevant supranational and intergovernmental European institutions.
