Overview

CIVITAS FORUM Conference 2016 will take place on 28-30 September in Gdynia, with the theme "SHAPING THE MOBILITY OF TOMORROW".

The event will gather hundreds of CIVITAS stakeholders from around Europe, all of whom are devoted to the development of sustainable urban mobility in their cities. The three-days programme of the conference will offer collaborative workshops, state-of-the-art presentations and interesting site visits. It is also our pleasure to announce that Vice-President of the EC Energy Union Šefčovič will be present at the opening day on of the conference.

Together with Gdańsk and Sopot, Gdynia forms a very modern and competitive Tri-city Metropolitan Area, which belongs to the largest, most diverse and most commonly visited urban areas in Poland. The choice of Gdynia for the host city of 2016 Conference was a natural continuum for the city's dedication to its fully sustainable development. Gdynia has numerous success stories in implementing transport plans, clean energy initiatives and in citizen engagement. The city has always been active participant in the CIVITAS programme and it is a leader in many sustainable mobility measures in Europe, thus providing interesting and rich environment for the conference theme. Gdynia is also the only city in Poland that is proud to have been involved in two CIVITAS demonstration projects, CIVITAS TELLUS and CIVITAS DYN@MO.

The city has been recognized for its commitment as the winner of many national and European awards in the field of sustainable transport. It was also voted as the City in Poland that has undergone the largest development and change in the last 25 years.

Do not miss this opportunity to witness first-hand the various sustainable, smart and people-friendly solutions implemented in Gdynia, meet with your CIVITAS counterparts, exchange experiences and together SHAPE THE MOBILITY OF TOMORROW!
