Overview
Starting in January 2005, the FAIR project has designed a fully automatic integrated road control system on a common European level. This Workshop presents the project's final results.
It will show concepts for a new automatic system to increase traffic safety and road protection by using an integrated enforcement approach for speed violations, overload detection of vehicles and axles, tolling control, slow overtaking of HGVs by other HGVs, seat belt wearing, tailgating, distance keeping and erratic driving.
Key innovations of FAIR are multi purpose enforcement, continuous long distance traffic supervision, tracking & tracing of vehicles, "Virtual Police Agent" system, knowledge base for regulations, automated vehicle weight control (high speed) and vehicle brake/tyre control.
