The emphasis remains on practical tools, procedures and real life experience from established practitioners to help all highways professionals achieve their objectives for their road network. We are welcoming speakers from political, engineering and research backgrounds to provide the full picture of Highway Asset Management today, enabling delegates to learn new ways of delivering an effective service to their customers. The Minister of State for Transport, Rt Hon Rosie Winterton will give the keynote address, and Department for Transport will launch key research on how best to best to measure road condition on more minor roads. A central
session in the day will be a round table discussion led by Steven Norris, a former Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party and currently chair of the transport working groups in Conservative Party leader David Cameron's Quality of Life Commission.
