Striking a Balance on Busy Urban Streets

EVENTS
Event date
Location
London

Overview

The emphasis of this conference is on striking the balance on busy urban streets and drawing on practical experience in greater depth. It provides delegates with opportunities to hear about the new developments, engage through workshops in understanding the detail, review the findings through the exhibition and approach the speakers, authors and leading practitioners in discussions at an evening drinks reception.

The conference will launch a major new publication (providing copies to the delegates) – ‘Link and Place: A Guide to Street Planning and Design’ – which draws on recent UK and wider European experience to set out a comprehensive framework for dealing with busy urban streets. Delegates will also receive a copy of a report from a recent Joseph Rowntree Foundation study entitled ‘Rediscovering Mixed-Use Streets: the contribution of local high streets to sustainable communities’, as well as supporting literature on other showcase projects.
