Commission highlights 10 achievements in cooperative, connected and automated mobility in the EU

ANNOUNCEMENT

In 2018, the Commission released a Communication "On the road to automated mobility: An EU strategy for mobility of the future". It outlined a set of objectives to position Europe as a global leader in CCAM with recommendations such as the need to leverage research and regulatory instruments as well as private sector funding within Member States.

Recently, on 17 April 2024, the Commission published a Staff Working Document (SWD) on cooperative, connected, and automated mobility (CCAM) in Europe which builds on the recommendations set out in 2018. The SWD offers a state of play of CCAM in Europe, recognising the progress made on an operational, technological, economic and societal level since 2018. The document also outlines 10 main achievements that have brought the EU closer to deploying CCAM.
