The Expert Group on Urban Mobility (EGUM) has presented its first set of recommendations to the European Commission. The recommendations focus on public transport and shared mobility. The specific topics covered include 1) ensuring prioritisation of public transport in urban areas; 2) increasing public transport inclusiveness and; 3) addressing worker shortage and evolving skill requirements.
Moving forward, the EGUM members are expected to adopt recommendations based on synergies between public transport and shared mobility solutions. They will also present expert guidance based on urban vehicle access regulations, sustainable urban mobility planning, safety of vulnerable road users, urban logistics, and inclusivity of urban spaces.
