A recent report from the European Commission discusses the "necessary means to build industrial capacity for drop-in advanced biofuels". The main objective of the research is to support the timely market penetration of advanced biofuels, to support the Fit for 55 package and climate neutrality goals. 

The report emphasises the importance of biofuels in reducing transport emissions. It also highlights that the role of biofuels is expected to grow significantly in the future, due to an expected increase in accessibility.
