On 12 October, ten European cities were awarded with the Label of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities. The Label recognises the cities' targets and action plans to achieve Net Zero by 2030 and aims to facilitate access to funding.
The cities awarded with the Label are: Sønderborg, Mannheim, Madrid, Valencia, Valladolid, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Zaragoza, Klagenfurt, Cluj-Napoca and Stockholm.
These cities have been recognised as leaders in the green transition and are providing best practice examples for others to follow. The Label acknowledges their successful development of Climate City Contracts, which outline their vision for climate neutrality.
