Objectives
The aim of the study was to identify risks that increase the possibility of entering in road accidents in Latvia involving severely injured or killed persons.

Results
Conclusions were drawn on the main causes of road accidents and several proposals were made for actions to help achieve a 50% reduction in the number of deaths and severely injured by 2020 against 2010.
