Overview

Background & Policy context

For interoperability and cooperation among individual ITS systems and thus transport systems, communication and system barriers between Member States / in the internal structure of individual Member States should not be created. ITS should use unified, open architecture with clear standards so that systems across the EU can be built today, but also in the future. These are common underlying assumptions for the rapid development of the market for ITS systems as a whole.

Objectives

The aim of the project is to determine and comply with technical standards that ensure not only functionality, but especially further modular expansion of ITS systems. This approach represent ITS systems without additional financial demands on overcoming technical barriers, which thus streamline the deposited funds. The results of the project will help solve most of the problems of public sector bodies, not only technical assessment but also economic evaluation of ITS systems and services proposed for implementation.

Methodology

First, assessment of compliance through the so-called "Declaration of Conformity" is planned. The aim is to get a summary of recommended practices and procedures covering the assessment of conformity or suitability for use of components, applications and services in a simplified way, ie via presentation of a statement. Furthermore, in this context, it is to answer the question what subjects will have to be created for this procedure, whether it is possible to use the existing legal and organizational framework for conformity assessment of products, and expand their activities. Specifications issued by the European Commission - the EU Regulations no. 885/2013 and no. 886/2013 will be reflected.
