Overview

Objectives:

The pilot project will establish consortium and preparation for the main project. In the main project will establish a network for increased production and use of biofuels to replace fossil fuels. In the network there will be some trans- national exchange of knowledge and expertise on a wide range of different raw material sources for biofuels production, which can be made available for utilization in the Northern Periphery area. These sources for biofuels include fish waste, wood, oil crops, slaughterhouse waste (animal fat), used vegetable oil (cooking oil) and agricultural waste. Partners in the main project will be industry, research and educational institutions and authorities in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Scotland. The project will work with industrial companies and educational institutions in Canada and Alaska.
