Overview

Objectives

The Hungarian-Romanian border created in 1920 destroyed the existing natural geographic and economic unity. Peripheral dead end towns formed, cultural and economic relations broke up. The aim of the project is to prepare the plans and traffic conceptions in order to establish the traffic connections between the Hungarian town Gyula, and the city Arad in Romania.

The general objective of the project is to overcome the physical and infrastructural barriers, to improve the traffic connections between the two sides of the border, to create traffic development plans and conceptions.

Target groups: The inhabitants of Bekes and Arad County, especially the companies, employees and tourists.

The main specific activities of the project are: creating plans and conceptions, communication activities.

Main results: 4 different traffic plans and traffic development conceptions.
