Overview

Objectives

The general objective of the proposed project was the experimental analysis of noise and vibration due to train passage to improve the prediction capabilities of numerical models, and the development of new tools for the design and construction stages of new railway lines.

Results

Noise measurement in railways from construction and maintenance activities. Vibration and radiated noise from train passage: numerical modelling and experimental validation. Models cloud computing virtualization. Experimental characterization of bridge vibrations in railway lines. Development and tuning of energy harvesters for optimum performance.
