Overview

Background & policy context:

The background of the project is a requirement to:

  • Unify the proposal for traffic sign installation;
  • Increase the safety of road traffic; and
  • Apply the relevant European standards.

Objectives:

The purpose of the project was to prepare a set of unified and binding technical regulations for use and installation of traffic signs on roads. The project solution was based on the latest knowledge and practical experience. The proposed principles of traffic signs considerably increase safety of road users.

Methodology:

The project structure was as follows:

  • Principles of road traffic signs; 
  • Principles of temporary road traffic signs; 
  • Principles of informative road traffic signs; 
  • Principles of horizontal road traffic signs.
