Overview

Objectives

The TEP/Traffic Education Park in Serres (one of the 150 similar TEPs in Greece) includes a network of vehicle/bicycle roads & pedestrian paths with all necessary signs, a parking space, a lecture amphitheatre (open), a light-structured storage place of driving equipment (e.g. small cars/bikes).

As 2 TEPs will be developed (the existing one in Serres will be upgraded & the one in Petrich will be developed from the scratch), the cross-border population will benefit due to the expected decrease in the number of traffic accidents in the area (this already happened in Serres). This is very important for Petritch as it suffers severe consequences due to the high number of fatal traffic accidents occurring every year, with children being the victims as they do not receive any traffic education adequately.

The project will also establish Safe Driving Schools (SDS) in each partner’s area. The SDS of Serres is already located in the existing facilities of the Serres Race Circuit and will be upgraded. Both theoretical & practice lessons will be performed in both areas and will be of high quality supported by quality equipment that will be purchased (e.g. driving simulator). The proposed project will guarantee the SDS’s sustainability.
