Overview
For all generations, unrestricted individual mobility is crucial for social exchange and participation. A self-determined life in old age therefore requires support in coping with distances
The URAiS project aims to provide an individual travel experience for elderly people with health impairments. URAiS focuses on elderly people who feel overwhelmed by the organisation of the trip or who have limited mobility, as well as elderly people in need of care and their relatives. With the help of a coordinated concept of technology deployment and services, barriers and obstacles to travel are removed. The core of the project is the development of the URAiS platform, which provides travellers with dynamic and proactive real-time information at any time throughout the entire travel chain and, for example, provides assistance in planning and booking the trip.
With the help of a coordinated concept of technology deployment and services, barriers and obstacles to travel are removed. The assistance systems used in the project make it possible to participate in travel, education, culture and experiences for a longer period of time and with greater ease, thus preserving self-determination and participation in social life and supporting health. The service chain covers the complete journey from planning to return home. The central point of the mobility services is the train journey, while the hotel forms the centre at the holiday destination with a network of medical, nursing, therapeutic and cultural service providers.
