Overview
CEARES-NET was a Support Action project. The organisers relied on the CEARES Network, created during the CEARES Project.
The project aim was to help enable the Central European aeronautical research establishments, universities and companies to cooperate with each other and to integrate further into the European research arena.
This was achieved via two workshops held in Central Europe, enabling many local experts to participate. With that in mind, the organisers made use of the contact data base of the former CEARES project. The timing of the workshops was focused toward the upcoming aeronautical calls of the European Commission. The first workshop (in Vienna) preceded the 4th AAT call. The second workshop (in Warsaw) preceded the 5th AAT call.

Results
The project outcome is the raised awareness of research and development in field of the aeronautics supported by the framework programme and by various initiatives. The workshops facilitated research co-operation in general and stimulated common project proposals with increased Central and Eastern European participation for upcoming calls and research programmes.
The workshops addressed (beside the AAT calls) infrastructural funds, bilateral co-operations and initiatives like SESAR JU, Clean Sky, Small Air Transport, CANNAPE and EUREKA.
These workshops have led to new co-operations within the region and also between Central Europe and other European regions. The events have facilitated research co-operations in general, common project proposals with increased Central and Eastern European participation for upcoming calls and other research programmes.
- The Vienna workshop (October 2010): this event provided an excellent possibility for the participants to express their needs and intentions in field of aeronautical R&TD, to learn about important accents of the FP7 Aeronautics & Air Transport Research and beyond. Participants have been provided with a good opportunity to participate in networking and B2B communication.
- The Warsaw workshop (June 2011): a successful event. Among the participants representatives of European initiatives like SESAR JU, CleanSky, Small Air Transport and CANNAPE. The possibilities for further innovation in the field of aeronautics have been discussed. There was an emphasis on the small air aircraft strategy.
