Overview

Background & Policy context

The Action covers the preparation of the feasibility study and technical documentation of the intelligent cargo road traffic management system in the port of Gdynia. The result of the Action will be the basis for the subsequent ITS development.

The Action is located on the pre-identified section Gdańsk-Gdynia along the Core Network Corridor Baltic–Adriatic.

Objectives

The Global Project aims to build an intelligent truck traffic management system in the Port of Gdynia.

Methodology

The management system will result in the:

  • reduction of the road traffic saturation, of haulage damming and of queues to terminals and on the driveways;
  • optimal allocation of trucks on parking in the port area and in the parking lots management; and
  • improvement of comfort and security for the community of Gdynia and the whole agglomeration.
