Overview
The main objective of the project was to improve the security at the international airports. The project followed the applicable legislation (L17, (EU) No. 1254/2009, (EC) No. 300/2008, etc.) The objective of the first phase was to create good conditions for changing the perception of security programs and contingency plans which currently complies with the safety standards only formally. The aim was to develop a set of methodologies and recommendations that will introduce modern tools of systems analysis and risk management into the process of creation of these documents.
For a detailed description of security procedures, the team used object-oriented modelling language UML (Unified Modelling Language). The resulting model of airport security system behaviour described all the participants of security events and activities. The result of the model analysis was the correct procedure for creating contingency plans. Subsequently, all the practical knowledge was applied to a design of a central security system, which aim was to accelerate the entire process of solving security events. Its main purpose is to give support instructions to resolve the situation. Another important part of the main objectives was analysis of information systems security, used in air traffic and detect the presence of threats and risks related to it. Physical security breach is no longer the only way to threaten air transport and airports. Detailed analysis of information systems suggested practical improvements in security of these systems and appropriate protection elements, which have been consequently included in safety programs and operational plans of airports. The result was a detailed analysis and security recommendations for the protection of information systems and computer network.
